Over the past year, we've grown our market presence by refining our product and building scalable, cost-effective growth channels. With demand rising for impactful mental health employee benefits, now is the time to expand our reach.
This role has three core missions at Spill:
Drive growth. You'll be directly responsible for fueling Spill's growth and helping us reach the next stage. Every deal you close brings revenue that funds product development, new hires, and expansion. In a startup, your individual contribution has an outsized impact on the company's success.
Solve real problems. Your primary focus is helping businesses address people-related challenges by introducing them to a product that genuinely improves operations. You're not just selling software—you're helping companies boost employee productivity, reduce absenteeism, and free up valuable HR resources.
Be the voice of the customer. You'll serve as the bridge between the market and the product team. By gathering customer insights and sharing them with the wider team, you'll help shape the product roadmap and ensure what we build meets real market needs.
You'll be the first hire in Australia, reporting directly to the CEO. Your focus will be bringing Spill's mental health and wellbeing offering to Australian SMEs, working on the frontlines of our mission to transform workplace health and happiness—one workplace at a time.
Our product is compelling and differentiated, our go-to-market playbook is solid, and we need someone who can localize and execute with speed and intensity in a new market to capture momentum and scale to the next level.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll work on:
Preparing and presenting product demos. You'll build a strong understanding of each prospect's pain points, then tailor demos to their specific use case.
Managing your pipeline. You'll maintain disciplined CRM hygiene—logging activities, moving deals through stages, and keeping accurate records.
Nurturing and closing deals. You'll follow up with prospects, answer questions, and share resources to nurture and convert leads after demos.
Account management. You'll manage post-sale relationships, ensure smooth onboarding for new customers, and collaborate with product and operations to resolve any issues.
Tracking sales performance. You'll monitor progress toward monthly and quarterly targets, staying on top of what you need to close to hit your numbers.
Customer-facing experience. This doesn't have to be in sales—relevant backgrounds include customer success, account management, recruitment, project management, or retail/hospitality management.
A solid grasp of the full-cycle sales process. You understand outbound prospecting, discovery, pitching, demos, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
You thrive with autonomy in a mission-driven startup environment. You're comfortable moving quickly, adapting as needed, and contributing beyond your core role.
Self-motivated and resilient. You handle ambiguity well, take feedback constructively, and stay driven without constant oversight.
Results-driven and competitive. You're motivated by hitting targets, meeting deadlines, and contributing to company growth.
Strong communication and relationship skills. You bring excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
